Most native plants require no pruning and are low maintenance.

Indigenous plants increase the bio-diversity of your yard and can attract birds and butterflies.

If you replace some of your grass with native plants, you can spend less time mowing and more time enjoying your yard!

Choose flowering trees and shrubs that produce seeds and berries to provide food for summer butterflies and winter birds.

Plants with red flowers attract hummingbirds. The hummers arrive when the red-flowering currant and salmonberry begin flowering.

Many native shrubs and perennials never lose their leaves and provide color year round!

The biggest threat to wildlife today is the loss of habitat. You can help re-create nature in your own yard by planting a few native species and providing hiding places.

Water really helps to attract birds to your yard. Moving water (such a as a fountain that re-circulates water) works the best!

Spend less time weeding and composting! Growing native plants reduces weeds and most leaves can be left where they fall to provide natural compost.
