Donna Hill B.Sc. B.Ed. C.H.I. is the executive director of Island Discovery & Training. She dedicates her life to the promotion and use of nature and heritage interpretation knowledge and skills, and is an enthusiastic teacher and role model. She believes that interpretation as a presentation skill is a life skill that everyone can use in any setting. Donna also specializes in local natural and cultural history knowledge and has contagious enthusiasm for what she interprets. Her courses are both practical and fun and she cultivates an entrepreneurial approach! She also leads guided interpretive tours for ElderHostel, teachers and has published self-guided driving and walking tours on CD for Nanaimo area. She is one of six nationally certified heritage interpreters in BC and is an evaluator for Go2HR (BC's Tourism Organization). She has facilitated workshops for Wild BC and Interpretation Canada and been an IC member since 1987. She has worked in many settings (nature, history, science, indoors and out, non-profit, government and private companies in southwestern BC. She also trains owners to train their dogs using positive science-based methods.

Bruce Angus B.Sc. (Pharm). holds a degree in Pharmacy from UBC and a Train the Trainer Certificate from Vancouver Community College. He is currently near completion of his Provincial Instructors Diploma. Bruce enthusiastically shares his knowledge of medicinal plants using his sense of humour and leadership skills. He is experienced in assisting and leading historical walks, nature tours and medicinal plant tours. He also works as an interpretive guide.
