5. Information for Dog Visitors to Nanaimo

All dogs must be leashed and under the owner's control within city limits, unless visiting a designated off leash area. See dog activities for a listing of locations.

Vicious (dogs that have a history or strong possibility of biting) and restricted dogs (pit bulls, staffordshire terriers etc) must be leashed and muzzled in public and are not allowed in off leash areas in Ladysmith, Nanaimo and Parksville. (unless they have CGC or CGN or are registered by the CKC.)
